Both of these can be had with V6s and AWD for less than $20k and close and around $15k now, and I think these are the best AWD V6 used sedans on the market and I want one in the future. I cannot be swayed otherwise.

Pre-facelift MKZ > post-facelift
Genuinely the best looking midsize car in recent memory. Too bad you can’t get one with the turbo V6 that the facelifted one has.

Well then... thank goodness I prefer the MKZ out of the two.

This is a terrible take. Honestly, an AWD 300 is better as a domestic, and virtually anything foreign built is even better yet.

I like the top one better, but both are good.
Honestly, it’s starting to worry me that I almost never take issue with your “unpopular” opinions. :/

I agree completely, the facelift pic was the first I saw on google. :p

FWIW I drove a 200 S for a bit, and I didn’t find anything to complain about with the 9HP transmission. IIRC the earlier ones had “not fully baked” calibrations and the shift quality when it went from 4-5/5-4 and 7-8/8-7 was terrible due to the dog clutches required. I don’t think they were actually failing, just that they had noticeable shift quality issues; since those gear changes use dog clutches (same as what engages the gears in a manual trans) they need an interruption in engine torque to disengage and re-engage, and done wrong that can feel “lurchy.”
but in general I thought the 200 was a perfectly cromulent car.

You’re not related to me or in my head, are you? Because all of my unpopular opinions are truthful and serious...

How many of those apply to the V6 AWD?
I know the 4 cyl and it’s auto had a lot of issues, but to my knowledge the V6 and it’s trans are very well paired and quite stout.
Another question would be: How many of those engine/trans issues were due to lack of proper maintenance?

G35x/G37x - Completely forgot about it
LaCrosse - Full-sized and not in the same class but great car anyways
GS350 - Same as Infiniti
SHO - 10/10 would never recommend when Fusion Sport exists. Taurus SHO is larger and heavier with a Fusion-sized interior.
300 - Wannabee Rolls Royce and Douchmobile (at least in SE Michigan).

Second pass: a V6 AWD pre facelift MKZ with the ridiculous retractable glass roof gets a thumbs up from me.

Go ahead and look. Each testimonial (most of them anyway) will list their engine displacement for the problem. I see plenty of V6s in there, but whether or not their AWD, they’d have to share that in their post I believe.

That pretty much sums up Infiniti’s problem.

More unpopular opinion: the FWD 3.0L twin turbo makes the same amount of torque but 50hp less and shaves quite a bit of weight, making for pretty crazy fuel economy numbers and acceleration numbers for a 350hp/400tq mid size sedan.
Also on 17MY 3.0 MKZs, the driver’s pack is actually pretty sweet. (Hot take: Lincoln sold so few driver’s packs, most people probably don’t know they exist)

I hate lincoln commercials and dislike most of their lineup but I love that tail of the mkz.
And the 200? I mean if you need a Sebring in your life go ahead

I forgot the Fusion Sport has a V6. Thought it was a hot turbo 4 because, yeah, would take over SHO any day every day.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles
